Mr. Alemneh Mekuriaw Liyew is a current Ph.D. student at Curtin University. He is also a research assistant casual staff at The Kids Research Institute Australia. Alemneh was previously working as a lecturer at the College of Medicine and health sciences, University of Gondar in his home country Ethiopia. He recently completed his MPH in Epidemiology and Biostatistics and his BSc in Public health both at University of Gondar.
Alemneh’s Ph.D. thesis focuses on mapping the past, present, and future burden of tuberculosis and multi-drug-resistant tuberculosis in Africa. He plans to investigate the past and current burden of TB by applying different methods of spatial epidemiology and he will also forecast how the future of Africa will be affected by this old lethal infectious disease.

Comparative effectiveness of interventions for preventing tuberculosis: systematic review and network meta-analysis of interventional studies
Tuberculosis (TB) is the leading infectious cause of death globally. Several preventive measures are employed to prevent TB, yet there is a paucity of evidence on the effectiveness of these interventions. Therefore, this study aimed to identify the most effective interventions for reducing TB incidence.
